The annual Rockbarton Vintage Fair and Farmers’ Market will take place at Rockbarton Garden Centre, Holycross, Bruff, this Sunday, where the 12th Battalion from Sarsfield Barracks in Limerick will display a number of military vehicles, guns and equipment. The Free State Army was billeted at Rockbarton in 1922 and Michael Collins himself called to Rockbarton to inspect the Army on his fateful final trip to Béal na Bláth.
Organiser Lynda Sheehan says that she is expecting an even bigger vintage display from Greybridge Classic Club this year, along with a variety of vehicles from other vintage clubs and individuals.
As well as the vintage fair, there will be the usual farmers’ market, with a variety of craft stalls and food stands. The event kicks off at 10am and enquiries should be directed to Lynda on 087-9911 463 or log on to www.rockbarton.ie
