There is great excitement building in 13 local primary schools around the Mallow district, as pupils from these schools are some of the many exhibitors who will be showcasing and exhibiting their science projects that they have been designing and developing with their peers in school, at the Munster Maths and Science Family Fair 2016, which will take place on Sunday, 16th October, from 11am to 5pm in Mallow GAA Complex in Carrigoon.  These schools are working with Mary Immaculate College, Limerick as part of the Mallow Primary Schools Project which is sponsored by the Economic Development Fund of Cork County Council, and co-ordinated by Mallow Development Partnership. The main focus of this phase of the project is to encourage and facilitate more child-led classwork, and ensuring an effective learning context through project work and problem solving.
Collaboratively the children have decided on a question or problem they are interested in investigating; this involves working scientifically, thinking, planning, designing, exploring, experimenting, analysing results and arriving at conclusions.  The children will be enthusiastically waiting for you to call to their stands on the day so that they can tell you all about their projects, exhibiting their scientific skills while also engaging you in some hands-on science activities they have designed for the fair. The fair offers a free, fun and interactive day out for all the family. For further information check out www.mallow.ie or contact Mallow Development Partnership on 022 57638
