Darragh Fitzgibbon with his man of match trophy after his display against Waterford in the Allianz Hurling League Div 1 Group A at Pairc Ui Chaoimh pic George Hatchell

Charleville and Cork hurler Darragh Fitzgibbon was this week named ‘GAA.ie Hurler of the Week’. The turbo-charged midfielder received 3,640 votes on the GAA’s official Instagram page which put him ahead of Tipperary’s Jason Forde (2,834) and Waterford’s Stephen Bennett (2,974). Darragh was a driving force for the Rebels in their convincing win over Offaly recently, scoring 1-2 from play and continuing his very impressive early-season form. Well done, Darragh. Here’s hoping for a great year with your local club and the county team!
