Miss Cork North Amy Barry this week departed from Mallow Railway Station for the Miss Ireland Final which takes place tomorrow, Friday 23rd September. As part of the Miss Ireland campaign, Amy nominated the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation as her charity. She was introduced to the charity as part of her family business, Barry Group, Mallow where she administered the project during their 60th anniversary last year. To date, €16,364 has been raised, which allows for 1,020 hours of home care for sick children. Since 1997, Jack and Jill has supported 249 children and their families in Cork and 2,061 children nationwide, with 43 children from Cork under their wing today. We wish Amy the best of luck at Miss Ireland this Friday and well done for the money raised for a well deserved cause.
