Cork GAA has announced Charleville hurler Darragh Fitzgibbon as captain of the Cork senior hurlers for the new season, while Blarney’s Mark Coleman will be vice-captain. Darragh has been a great servant for the Charleville club from underage to adult, and has also represented Cork at minor, U21 and senior level, while also winning two Fitz-gibbon Cup medals with UCC, and playing with Charleville CBS at all levels during his time at the school. Manager of the Cork seniors is Ben O’Connor from Newtown-shandrum, who has had a stellar career as a player and manager at all levels, and who is now intent on bringing back All-Ireland glory to the Cork senior squad.
