Filip Slipaczek made a return visit from the UK to Scoil Íosagáin, Hospital last week to present awards to pupils from each class to mark their success in the Irish language. The awards are sponsored by Filip – this is the third year – as a tribute to his Irish roots, in particular to his late mother Christina (Maher) who was born in Co Limerick, spent her early years in Kilfrush and went to school in Hospital. She later moved to England, marrying her Polish husband. All the pupils at the school were involved in performing a musical tribute to show their appreciation to their guests
