Everybody is invited to ‘Celebration and Circum-spection’, a free community event which will take place this Sunday from 3pm in Bridhaven Nursing Home, Spa Glen. The event marks the launch of Declan Gould’s latest book. Declan is a long-time resident of Brídhaven Nursing Home, and published his first book ‘Crazy Daze – A Bipolar Odyssey’, in 2020. The book, which is autobiographical in nature, recounts aspects of his life in the United States, Zimbabwe and Ireland. Declan later published ‘From the Hostel’, a series of thoughts and ideas about life, and his latest book builds on this series.
Tadhg Curtis, Chairperson of Mallow Arts Collective, will be the MC for the event, and music will be supplied by Declan himself, and by Catherine O’Callaghan.
There will be brief contributions from two of Declan’s friends. Sean Ó Floinn will speak on the origins of Friends of the Earth in Cork, and Vincent Murphy will speak on the origins and practice of ‘The Next Step’.
Light refreshments will be served, and Declan would welcome a good turnout to celebrate this occasion with him.
