Another accolade for Nickie

Nickie Quaid after being presented with the Man of the Match award

One of hurling’s most decorated players, Nickie Quaid, picked up another accolade on Sunday last. Following Limerick’s stunning victory over Clare in Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chíosóg, Ennis, the Limerick netminder was named Man of the Match.
During the game, the Effin clubman made a number of saves, two of which were off the charts in quality and he played a major part in his side maintaining a comfortable lead over the Banner County men at vital stages of the game.
Accolades rest lightly on the shoulders of the humble and modest Limerick goalkeeper who made his intercounty senior debut in February 2010 and in a stellar career has won five All-Ireland, seven Munster and four National Hurling League medals and has been named an All-Star on three occasions.
A true legend of the game, Nickie Quaid is one of the greatest netminders to ever grace the game.
