
Labour TD for Cork North Central, Eoghan Kenny, has warmly welcomed the opening of new in-patient beds at Mallow General Hospital, describing it as “a hugely important milestone for healthcare services in North Cork and across the wider Munster region.”
Deputy Kenny said: “The opening of these new in-patient beds marks a very positive day for Mallow General Hospital and for the communities it serves. It reinforces the essential role that Mallow General Hospital continues to play in delivering high-quality healthcare services for families across North Cork and the wider Munster area.
“As a proud Mallow man and a long-time advocate for our hospital, I know just how important this investment is for local people. Expanding in- patient capacity will help strengthen patient care and support the incredible staff who work tirelessly every day on behalf of patients and their families.”
Deputy Kenny also thanked the team at HSE South West for their work in delivering the project and paid tribute to the staff of Mallow General Hospital. “I want to sincerely thank everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition, particularly the team at HSE South West. Most importantly, I want to acknowledge the outstanding dedication and professionalism of the staff at Mallow General Hospital, who continue to provide exceptional care under increasing pressure.
“Our community deserves strong, accessible healthcare services, and today’s announcement is an important step forward,” he said.
