CHARLEVILLE HAS HUGE POTENTIAL

 

The Fine Gael T.D. for Cork North West, Áine Collins, recently told members of Charleville Fine Gael Branch that Charleville Town and the surrounding area is poised for considerable growth over the next three to five years.
“Currently over three thousand people are employed in the Charleville area in sectors  such as agriculture,  food processing, engineering, special needs services, education,   retail and businesses services and the hospitality sector.” Charleville is one of the most prosperous towns in rural Ireland according to the Fine Gael T.D. and because of its location it is poised for further growth over the next few years. She told the members of the party that in the past five years a considerable amount of money has been spent in Charleville by both the private and public sectors, she cited the following examples; Kerry Foods spent in the region of €60 million in new plant and equipment, a new state of the art community health centre recently opened is a joint public/ private venture; four new classrooms in the CBS secondary school; a new all weather sports pitch in Moatville.  Charleville has also benefited from increased employment in the engineering sector the food retail sector and the hospitality sector.
Deputy Collins also stated that a new and refurbished CBS Primary School will be built in Charleville within the next two years and planning permission is being sought for a sixty bed nursing home and twenty residential units on the railway road. “Charleville has a very bright future and I encourage budding entrepreneurs thinking of starting a new business to consider Charleville as a location.”
