A hat-trick of sporting successes for Mallow

Mallow has been on the crest of a wave in sporting terms recently, and the past week has seen some remarkable achievements, with Mallow Utd U14s winning the Football Cup Barcelona in Spain, Mallow RFC being named Munster Junior Club of the Year, and the Patrician Academy being named April winners of the Rebel Og Awards. Mallow Utd U14s, under coaches Seán Dilworth and Billy O’Keeffe, won out against 15 other teams from around Europe and South America to take the title in Barcelona, and got a heroes’ welcome on their return to Mallow on Monday. Likewise, Mallow RFC have had a great year, winning trophies in several grades, most notably the Junior 2 League, and chairman Mike Boyle was presented with the Junior Club of the Year trophy at a gala ceremony in Thomond Park. The Patrician Academy has been on an unprecedented run, claiming its first All Ireland senior football title, and also winning the Simcox Cup and Cork Colleges B Hurling Final. Congratulations to Mallow Utd, Mallow RFC, and the Patrician Academy, and here’s looking forward to an equally successful 2019/2020 season!
