Den O’Brien Abha Bhan Parish Park Committee Fashion Show

On Friday night last we staged our fundraising Fashion Show before a capacity crowd of 400-plus at Ceol Corbraí Hall in Glin in aid of the Abha Bhan Parish Park. Lady Luck was on our side from the offset as the mild evening was the perfect setting for the beautiful wine and cheese reception which was held inside the marquee that greeted all the fashionably dressed patrons and also housed the many local food producers and sponsors who showcased their diverse array of products and delicious cuisine. The Holman Lee Agency brought finesse and professionalism to the show on the evening by modelling the Spring/Summer collection from many local boutiques and designers, while our home grown male models consisting of Colm Donovan, Darren Whelan, Niall Liston and our very good friend and advisor John Lynch of John Lynch Solicitors, Newcastle West had the crowd roaring for more with their dazzling performance on the catwalk. Celia herself addressed the large crowd at the interval where she remarked on the electric atmosphere before she and Deidre Whelan had the very difficult task of adjudicating the best dressed lady competition which was eventually won by the very glamorous Martina Moroney, Shanagolden. The night ended with a monster raffle with top prize of an overnight stay in the Hodson Bay Hotel. As there are too many generous people to mention individually the committee would like to take this opportunity to say a very sincere thank you to all the local boutiques, designers, businesses, sponsors, models and hard working helpers without whom such a successful occasion could not have taken place. A big thank you to Mr. John Healy and Mr. John Browne and their committee for so kindly offering us their fantastic hall and for also being so facilitating from the off. A special mention and huge thank you also to our good friend and fantastic supporter Niall King of Shanagolden Bouncy Castles and Marquees for his continued generous support and assistance. A big thank you also to Mike, Neilie and Garda Billy McElligott for the fantastic job they did with traffic management on the night, making sure everyone arrived and departed safely. All in all a hugely successful and entertaining night was had which may just pave the way for this becoming an annual event.
