Adare make the breakthrough!

Adare is usually associated with hurling, but this week it’s the big ball game which is taking centre stage, after the local footballers clinched the county senior title for the first time in their history. To top it off, they won in the most dramatic manner possible, looking dead and buried when Newcastle West scored an injury-time point, before Hugh Bourke rampaged down the right wing and offloaded to Jack English who buried the ball in the net.
It was third time lucky for Adare, who lost finals in 2002 and 2010, and their supporters were ecstatic when Johnny Murphy blew the final whistle. The newly-crowned champions now march on to a Munster Clubs Senior Football Championship semi-final showdown with Cork champions Nemo Rangers, in Leeside on 12th November.
