Amber Flag award recognises work of Scoil Pól Kilfinane in promoting positive mental health

Students from the wellbeing committee at Scoil Pól who were awarded the Pieta House Amber Flag.

Congratulations are this week due to the Scoil Pól student wellbeing committee who raised the Pieta House Amber Flag at the Kilfinane school on Monday last. The flag was awarded in recognition of the schools’ work in promoting positive mental health.
The wellbeing committee at Scoil Pól organised a number of events throughout the year including mental health and acceptance weeks, a compliments day while also participating in the ‘Climb with Charlie’ event. Scoil Pól recognises each student as unique and operates an open door policy, where pupils can drop in to principal, Mike O’Hara or Mrs. Ryan for a chat at any time.
The Kilfinane school also offers the facility of three active guidance counsellors, working within a very strong pastoral care system.
