ANNIE THE MUSICAL

Following the huge success of last year’s Christmas Panto Cinderella, Rathkeale Community Council is preparing to tread the boards once again with the family favourite musical ‘Annie’. A cast of nearly 50 have been rehearsing for over a month and are raring to go. With a cast ranging from 7 years of age all the way up to the adult leads it really is an all encompassing production. At the helm once again is Miriam Ball who directed Cinderella and has worked with many groups from Cashel to Newcastle West to Cappagh Musical Society and many organisations from Limerick city. “We are all very excited about the opening night,” Miriam told us, “and with a cast hailing from Adare, Limerick city, Cappagh and Newcastle West it promises to be a true family night out.” This production is choreographed by Kate Upton who will be well known to those who have seen the Newcastle West Musical Society productions over the past few years. Stars of the show include Nicole Cronin (Annie), Anita Hawkes Lyons (Miss Hannigan), Dave Wrenne (Oliver Warbucks), Emer Feehan (Grace Farrell), Amy Shinnors (Lily St Regis) and Niall O’Halloran (Rooster).

The show runs on June 21st/ 22nd/ 23rd in Rathkeale Community Hall and curtain goes up at 7.30pm each night. With over 35 children and 25 adults involved people are advised to book early.
