The countdown is on for the selection of the Rose of Tralee next Tuesday night, and Mallow’s Aoife Murphy is attending a dizzying number of events while preparing for her appearance as Cork Rose on the stage of the Festival Dome next Monday or Tuesday night where she will be interviewed by Daithi O’Shea in front of a capacity crowd, plus hundreds of thousands of television viewers.
The research nutrit-ionist, a native of Mallow, is currently completing her PhD with a scholarship at University College Dublin, and was crowned Cork Rose at a gala night in the Clayton Hotel Silversprings earlier this summer.
Aoife is a past pupil and former student of the year in Davis College, and has also won several awards nationally and internationally for her communication skills, so she should have no problem talking to Daithi!
