Aoife writes a book to fundraise for Mallow horse charity

Aoife Cashman with her pet rabbit, Parsnip.

When 11 year-old Aoife Cashman’s mother got in touch with the Equine Rescue Centre in Mallow to ask if her daughter could fundraise for the centre, the charity was delighted to accept such a generous offer from this big-hearted girl, and when they received a copy of her book ‘The Wedding’ they were completely blown away. The beautifully illustrated book tells the story of two rabbits that managed to have their wedding during the COVID-19 lockdown – and as they are rabbits, of course this took place over Easter.
Aoife was inspired to write the book as a way to keep in touch with her grandfather in Galway. Aoife would write a chapter sending each to him in turn for his comments and editing. As an animal lover, a keen horse rider and owner of a pet rabbit called Parsnip, Aoife brings this heart-warming story to life with her own gorgeous drawings. The Equine Rescue Centre in Mallow is delighted to be able to offer ‘The Wedding’ for sale in both digital (€5) and print (€8) versions at its online shop , https://shop.ispca.ie/collections/gifts-for-you
The book would make a lovely gift for a young (or older!) animal lover, while raising vital funds for the ISPCA’s Equine Centre in Mallow.
