Ballyhea N.S. raise €550 for Jack and Jill

The student council of Ballyhea National School organised a Non Uniform Day on Friday 4th May in aid of the Jack and Jill Foundation. Mr Jonathan Irwin CEO of the Foundation visited our school on Wednesday 16th May to receive a cheque for €550 and to give a talk to the pupils. The student council picked the Jack and Jill Foundation because we believe what they do is outstanding. This is exactly what they do:

Jack and Jill provides direct funding to families of children with brain damage who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care. These are children who as a result of their condition require intensive home nursing care. The Foundation gives these families the gift of time, time to do the things that we so often take for granted like shopping, taking their other children to the park, a night’s sleep, etc.
