Eddie O’Dea 60th Birthday Party
Eddie O’Dea planned his 60th birthday and invited his friends and family. Guests were told not to buy gifts because there would be a €10 charge per person and this would be donated to Milford Hospice. Fr Tony Mullins pointed out on the night that this was a novel approach to a party but everyone invited was delighted to be saved the trouble of trying to find a suitable present for the occasion. Bulgaden Castle was jumping from late evening on Saturday July 7th till well into the morning of Sunday 8th. On Monday July 16th Eddie presented a cheque for €3,200 to Sr. Phyllis Donnelan who accepted it on behalf of Milford Hospice.
