Blackwater Photographic Society held its annual Photographer of the Year Awards at the Arches Bar on Monday, 21st May. Visiting judges were John Hooton of Mallow Camera Club, John Finn from Cork Camera group, and Niamh Whitty, Cork. The winner of the advanced section was Kieran O’Mahony, 2nd was Pakie O’Donoghue, and 3rd was Thomas Healy. John Mullane won the intermediate category, followed in second place by Geraldine Dennehy and Paul Madigan. The novice category was won by Kevin O Callaghan, 2nd Paddy McAuliffe, and 3rd Richard Dempsey, John Mullane also won the black and white section of the competition.
