Last Friday, a group of local women gathered in McCarthy’s Buttevant, to wrap up another very successful fundraiser for Cork ARC Cancer Support House. The completion of the Cork Mini Marathon by Buttevant, Ballyclough and Ballyhooly ladies, together with friends from the ‘Hour of Calm’ Group at Cork ARC, raised a massive €9,000.
Hilary Sullivan, Head of Fundraising, Cork ARC joined us on the night to accept the presentation. She sincerely thanked all who contributed so generously and highlighted the many services provided by Cork ARC, which is totally dependent on voluntary fundraising and, because of the generous support received, is able to continue to provide an invaluable service (free of charge) to anyone impacted by cancer.
In true celebrity style, the ‘Lovely Lou’ and Shelly joined us for the presentation and the photo shoot. With formalities over, a talented group of local session musicians entertained us for the rest of the night. A big thank you to McCarthy’s for facilitating us, and to all who travelled to make it yet again another memorable night.
