Cannonball Ireland to visit County Limerick

A free family-friendly event will bring the world’s most incredible supercars through West Limerick next Saturday morning.
Over 200 supercars and exciting hypercars will pass through en route to Ballysimon.
The action-packed spectacle takes place nationwide from Thursday through to Sunday, with proceeds going to The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, which funds and delivers in-home nursing care, respite support and end-of-life care for children from birth to six years of age with severe learning disabilities often associated with complex medical needs.
The event features some of the finest cars on the planet, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche, Aston Martin, and Maserati.
This year, the convoy is joined by a Koenigsegg Regera, a groundbreaking megacar, and a stunning McLaren Senna with a unique livery mirroring its Formula 1 counterpart.
The Ford GT Heritage Series with the famous Gulf Livery is also returning.
The convoy will leave Killarney on Saturday (10am) and is set to arrive at Circle K Ballysimon, Limerick at 11:30am to refuel.
So from early morning, enthusuiasts can watch the supercars etc. pass through Abbeyfeale, Temple-glantine, Newcastle West and Adare en route to Ballysimon.
At refuelling points (such as at Ballysimon), the atmosphere will be unique, with Brazilian dancers, live DJs, and bands.
Drivers and celebrities add to the spectacle by dressing up in colourful costumes, from Catwoman to Batman.
Spectators are encouraged to dress up as well, with prizes for the best-dressed.
The event, founded by Kildare businessman Alan Bannon, is estimated to bring in over €2.5 million to host locations each year.
It has already raised over €2 million for Irish charities.
From Limerick, the largest organised road trip in Europe will then continue northwards to Sligo. Day one (Friday) is from Enfield, Co. Meath to Kerry and day three is Sligo to Nass, Co. Kildare.
