Caoimhe snaps a winner in CDYS photography competition

CDYS Photography Competition winner Caoimhe Browne-Vaughan being presented her prize by CDYS Youth Worker Christy O’Neill.

Cloyne Diocesan Youth Services has been running a photography competition since the schools closed in March. We decided to run this competition because many young people were finding it difficult to fill their time due to social distancing. This competition was open to all second level students in Co. Cork and we received many entries! Once the competition closed, the hard work began to choose a winner! The overall winning photograph was taken by Caiomhe Browne-Vaughan. Caiomhe was presented with a tablet and a €200 Penneys voucher. Category winners were Leanne Murphy for ‘Waterscapes’, Eric Delany for ‘Flora’, Jemma Lomansey for ‘Nature’ and Hazel O’Brien for ‘Landscapes’. Runners up were Alicia Dube, Rebecca Lomasney, Kellie Anne O’Callaghan, Aoife Roche, Darragh Sheehy, Ruby Galvin and Rachel Creagh. Well done to everyone and a huge thank you to everyone who entered the competition. We would like to thank our sponsors Cork County Council, AIB, Mitchelstown Credit Union, CETB and Dairygold.
