Carol and Ailís Honoured at Gold Gaisce Ceremony


Congratulations to both girls on receiving this award. Carol gained many new skills while undertaking different challenges.

Community Involvement
She became a fully warranted new Guide Leader and woks with the Brownies in Charleville.

Adventure Journey
She managed for us to do the Camino over four days, which brought its challenges and rewards. Along the way, she also received bronze and silver awards from Gaisce.

For Physical Recreation
Carol did yoga, she found yoga beneficial for both body and mind. It also helped with the stress of doing the Leaving Cert.

Personal Skill
Carol continued to learn the cello. The orchestra she joined went from 20 members to 90 and they played in the National Concert Hall in February 2018. As a result she was also able to do music for her Leaving Cert. It was and is great fun!

Residential Project
Carol volunteered at an Irish Girl Guide Inter-national Camp. This camp was in Rockwell College for nine days. Throughout the camp she helped run different activities promoting all things that guides could be.

Other Achievements
While doing Gaisce, Carol also achieved her bronze and silver guiding equivalent. She qualified in paediatric first aid, filled handbags for the homeless women of Cork with sanitary products, hats, scarfs, gloves and many more bits, climbed Croke Patrick, passed her driving test first time out. Carol Martin is an outstanding person .
