CHARLEVILLE PUBLIC MEETING ON DEFIBRILLATORS

Charleville Community Council will hold a public meeting to discuss the matter of publicly accessible defibrillators in the community, at 7.30pm next Monday, 17th February, at the St. Vincent de Paul Centre, Charleville. In attendance will be Bernard Flynn, Operations Manager with the HSE South Ambulance Service, who is also a leading Com-munity First Responder Resuscitation Trainer.

This meeting will look at where defibrillators are currently located and at the feasibility of developing a Community First Responder Scheme in Charleville whereby trained volunteers would be on hand to support during an incident of cardiac arrest, stroke or sudden collapse until ambulance personnel arrive. The meeting on Monday evening is open to the public with an interest in making Charleville a healthier and safer community and indeed anyone who has been involved in defibrillator projects or Community First Responder Schemes in the past.
