CHARLEVILLE TIDY TOWNS

An Taisce National Spring Clean takes place during the month of April. Our clean up in Charleville will take place on Saturday, 9th April, starting at 10am.

Charleville Tidy Towns is appealing to all residents of Charleville to come out on that day to clean up the area where they live. We hope that residents associations will get involved and encourage everybody to take part in their own neighbourhood. We would like to see residents of all housing estates, residents of all approach roads as well as residents of all streets, lanes and roads in the town itself take pride in the appearance of their own patch and have their own locality spic and span.

We are making a special appeal to all organisations and associations, especially those bodies engaged with young people, i.e. the GAA, Camogie, Soccer, Rugby, Scouts to encourage their members to turn out in force to ensure their grounds and surrounds are litter free.

For anyone unable to participate on Saturday, 9th April, please do your bit by doing a clean up of your own area at whatever time is convenient to you.

Charleville Tidy Towns will facilitate the clean up by having a supply of bags and gloves which can be collected at the Plaza at 10am on Saturday, 9th April. Cork County Council will ensure all litter will be collected as soon as possible after the clean up is completed.

Charleville is a wonderful place in which to live. It is our town and our responsibility to make it as pleasant as possible a place to live in, work in and play in. Let’s show our pride in our town by taking part in the clean up on Saturday, 9th April.

On Monday, 18th April, Charleville Tidy Towns will host a talk in Vincent’s by Donal O’Leary of Stop Food Waste Ireland at which everyone is welcome. Donal will discuss food waste and how we can prevent it. He will also speak about composting. This has become very relevant as from July 1st 2016 we will pay by weight to dispose of our waste.
