CIARÁN WINS PPI RADIO AWARD

On Friday October 3rd the PPI Radio Awards were held in the Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny. The awards showcase the best of Irish radio over the course of 12 months. One of the winners was Ballyhea man Ciarán O’Regan. Ciarán works for Radio Kerry, based in Tralee. Besides presenting his own nightly show, he also produces ‘Terrace Talk’ which is presented by Weeshie Fogarty. Terrace Talk came away with the ‘Gold’ award, beating off stiff competition from Newstalk’s Off the Ball. RTÉ’s Sunday Sport, Today FM’s Premier League LIVE and 25 other sports programmes from around the country.

They were presented with the award by the Head of RTÉ Radio 1, Tom McGuire. To top it off, Radio Kerry won the Local Station of the Year Award, beating 24 other local stations.
