Cillian engineers a national award!

Ronan McBrearty, Chairman of the National Engineering and Technology Teachers’ Association, presenting Cillian Barrow, Davis College and Glantane, with a certificate to recognise exceptional standards in his 2018 Leaving Certificate Higher Level Engineering Project.

Congratulations are extended to former Davis College pupil Cillian Barrow from Glantane who was recognised for his exceptional standard of work in his 2018 Leaving Certificate Higher Level Engineering Project. The National Engineering and Technology Teachers’ Association (ETTA) held their annual awards ceremony before Christmas to officially highlight the top 20 students in the country in various Technical subjects such as Engineering, Design and Communication Graphics, and Metalwork and Tech-nical Graphics. The awards ceremony was held in the Mullingar Park Hotel. Cillian Barrow, who excel-led in Engineering during his time in Davis College, produced a project which showed exceptional levels of skill, craftsmanship and finish as part of his Leaving Certificate last year. In recognition for this, he was one of two Cork pupils awarded with medals in the Cork ETTA Competition last October, and this meant that his project went forward for national recognition. Cillian was presented with a certificate on the day from National ETTA Chairman Ronan McBrearty and deservedly took his place amongst the top engineering students in the country. He is now studying Engineering in CIT.
