Congratulations to the transition year students of Coláiste Mhuire, Buttevant, who were crowned overall winners of the 2016 All-Ireland Transition Year Drama Festival which took place on Saturday, the 27th February in The Briery Gap Cultural Centre, Macroom. More than 45 schools from across the country battled it out for one of the 16 coveted spots in the grand final. The students of Coláiste Mhuire wrote, directed and staged their own original play with the help of their English teacher Ms. Laura Hayes and Drama director Mr. Martin Lucey. This is a remarkable achievement as it is the first time the school has entered the competition. The play titled ‘Life’ is an ensemble drama which explores the aspirations of young people and provides a positive message for teenagers.
