Seán Sherlock TD has confirmed that Mallow GAA Complex is to be used as a Covid-19 vaccination centre and added that he will continue to lobby for other vaccination centres around North Cork. The GAA complex at Carrigoon is considered the ideal location for a Covid centre, with the large indoor Astro hall capable of housing multiple vaccination cubicles and waiting areas, while there is ample parking outside, plus wheelchair-friendly access. The complex is also easily accessible by road.
Said Deputy Sherlock: “I’m very glad to confirm that Carrigoon GAA Complex in Mallow has been confirmed as a vaccination centre and I just want to say ‘well done’ to everybody involved there. We’re actively seeking to ensure that there are more vaccination centres now placed throughout the county, so that people don’t have to go through the inconvenience of having to go to Cork city if they live quite far away.”
“Our (The Labour Party) ongoing policy of influencing the decisions on different centres and Mallow GAA has borne fruit and we will continue to ensure that we lobby hard for other centres outside of the city to be included as part of the vaccination rollout,” he said.
