The 5th class girls from Scoil Iosaf, Newcastle West participated in a creative 6 week Foróige run programme in ceramic work and movie making. The girls enjoyed designing and making their own masks and plates from clay. They also planned and made their own movie. At the end of the programme, the girls organised and held a very successful art exhibition and movie viewing night for their families at the Foróige Youth Centre in Newcastle West. A great night was had by all.

Foróige is a national youth development organisation. In Newcastle West it is based in Market Court, Market Yard. Foróige works with young people aged between 10-18years.Foróige enables young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and the development of society.

Foróige is currently recruiting volunteers to organise and run volunteer-led activities from the Foróige Youth Centre in Newcastle West. Volunteers should enjoy working with young people and should be patient, reliable, self-motivated, responsible, energetic and trustworthy. If you are interested come and talk to us!

If you are a young person aged between 10-18yrs and are interested in becoming involved in Foróige’s 10-11 yrs or 12-18 yrs groups which run on a Friday night or forming a special interest Foróige group so as to be able to do what it is you like doing with friends e.g. art, music, cookery etc please contact Elaine or Edel.

Foróige is open to suggestions as to what young people would like to see happening within the youth centre.
