Six local primary schools participated in the first stage of the nationwide 2012 Credit Union Schools’ Quiz comp-etition, run by Charleville Credit Union in the community hall, Charleville on Saturday February 4th.
Students from CBS National School were the winners of both categories on the day. These students will go through to the Regional Finals which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 3rd of March in Mallow. The regional winners and runners-up (100 teams of 4 children) will compete for the National titles in April 2012.
The questions compiled by primary school teachers, covered topics such as geography, history, music, literature and sport. This annual quiz remains a very successful event every year. The Credit Union takes great pride in the success of the event as it represents everything the Credit Union wants to be involved in, youth, family and the community.
The Credit Union would like to congratulate all of the teams that participated in the final, especially the two winning teams that both displayed exceptional knowledge and deter-mination throughout. The overall standard was extremely high and both teams are a credit to their schools. Best of luck to both teams in the regional finals in March.
