Croom’s glorious hurling and football past will be recalled at a gal function in Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel on Friday November 13th when the county junior hurling winning team of 1965 and the county junior football winning team of two years later will be honoured.
The hurling panel who were named for the 1965  county junior hurling replay and who defeated  Boher  2-7 to 1-0 were Donie Quilty, John Reidy, Tom Begley, John Howard, Donal Cagney, Tom Lynch, Stephen Moloney, Con Shanahan, Liam Cagney, Gerard Cregan, Joe Carroll, Gerard Cagney, Gerry Manning, Sean Quilty, Patsy Cregan, Alec Cregan, John Costel-loe, Michael McDonnell, Johnny Cregan, Denis Cusack, Liam Fahy, John Fitzgerald, Bobby Quilty, John Joe O’Regan, Dick Collins  and John Carroll.
The football team and substitutes that defeated Ahane in the 19967 county junior final were: J.B. Kiely, John Howard, Tom Begley, John Reidy, Noel O’Regan,   Mark Reidy, Con Lucey, Con Shanahan, Liam Cagney, Gerard Cregan, Sean Quilty, Donal Carroll, Liam Fahy, John Costello, Gerry Manning,

The members of the two winning teams and panel will be presented with a momentum to honour bringing county titles to the Croom club and the Maigueside The night will be a night to celebrate and honour the Croom Gaels of five decades ago. The night will be one of nostalgia where many of those who wore the blue and white will renew acquaintances with former team mates and it is expected that some of those will be travelling from oversees to party and renew old friendship with their former team-mates.
A photo and projector display of the activities of those memorable occasions on the playing fields of South Limerick and the Gaelic Grounds will be part of the celebrations. Tickets are available from officers of the club €30
