Davis College says ‘Just Be You!’

Head boys, head girls and teachers from Davis College presented a moving performance entitled ‘Just Be You’ at the Student Leaders’ Congress in the RDS last Wednesday, January 15th, in front of 4,000 students from all over Ireland. The attendance watched in silence as the issues of depression and suicide were discussed openly. The event is the brainchild of Jim Breen, the ‘Secret Millionaire’ who founded the Cycle Against Suicide. Students on the day listened to Niall Breslin, the ambassador of Cycle Against Suicide and judge on RTE’s Voice of Ireland, tell of his journey with depression. The key message promoted at this event is that it is OK not to feel ok and it is more than OK to ask for help. Davis College will once again participate in the national cycle this May.
