DESMOND SPORTIVE CYCLING CLUB – Weekend training spins

The Desmond Sportive CC were out spinning the wheels at the weekend, taking in some beautiful west Limerick scenic routes. A lot of the seasoned members decided to take in some of west Limerick’s famous climbs including the Mass Rock, The Spout, Rooskagh, Barna, Cussens Hill (very short but extremely steep). Others just decided to go on some 60km to 70km spins, all these training spins regardless of distance or duration are very beneficial to staying fit for the winter. The club would like to thank Dromard CC for coming back to Newcastlewest to join us for the week-end spin. The extra cyclists who came along for the spin really helped to shorten the journey. Dromard CC and Des-mond Sportive CC are really proud of the camaraderie that has developed between the two clubs and this can only help strengthen the popularity of cycling in the area. It was great to see the new members turning out, so well done to the new lads, stick with it lads is the message, you will improve if you continue to turn up for the training spins.
