Following the recent launch of the Dessie Fitzgerald Injury Fund fundraiser, Dessie is a man very much in demand.
Around the time of the launch Dessie’s story was featured on social media, in a lengthy article by Brian Murphy for the website G.A.A.ie, and since then Dessie has been inundated with requests for interviews with radio, television and media.
The fundraiser has taken off beyond the organisers’ wildest dreams and this week we feature Dessie’s reaction and appreciation of the work done by the fund raising committee. Also included by kind permission is Dessie’s full story as told to and written by Brian Murphy, together with full details of the fundraising events coming up in mid- July. (See pages 9, 10 and 11).
