€25,000 for emergency vehicle for Mallow Search and Rescue

Mallow Search and Rescue has been allocated €25,287 for the purchase of an emergency vehicle as part of CLAR funding for first responder organisations. Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring, announced details of funding of €1.2 million to a range of first responder organisations in rural areas, and the news was welcomed by Cllr John Paul O’Shea who said, “I’m delighted to see support for Mallow Search and Rescue in the vital work they do. I have great respect for the volunteers who put themselves on the line in order to help others. I know that this funding will go towards keeping members of our communities safe and well,” he said. Another North Cork organisation to benefit from funding is Knocknagree Community Group which will receive €1,400 for the purchase of a defibrillator.
