George Daly The Friends of St Itas Golf Class for JP McManus Pro Am Qualifier

The Friends of St. Ita’s Community Hospital, Newcastle West, are thrilled to report that their recent golf classic proved to be yet another outstanding success, raising almost €35,000, an increase of nearly €9,500 over the same event in 2010, which realised €25,500. This is truly a fantastic achieve-ment, said Chairman Fergus Scanlan, an amount which, he emphasised, was only made possible through the enormous support and outstanding generosity of the people of West Limerick and beyond.
The success of the golf classic has enabled the Friends to put two teams forward for the qualifier for the JP. McManus Pro-Am, which will be held in Adare in May 2020.
Team no. 1 comprises Marius Stokes, Michael Moran and James Quinn, while Gerard O’Connor, Una Deneefe and Mossie Stack are on Team no. 2.
“We wish them the very best of luck and thank them for their support in taking part, as we do, indeed, all the others for their participation in helping to make the classic such a tremendous success,” said Fergus. (See story on page 74.)
