Detailed drawings for a new €5 million traffic management plan for Abbeyfeale are at an advanced stage, and councillors at last week’s meeting of Newcastle West Municipal District were told that, when imple-mented, will result in improved traffic flow, more convenient parking, and a more attractive town for new and existing businesses. Kieran O’Gor-man, Senior Executive Engineer at Limerick City and County Council, told the meeting that, when the drawings for the plan are completed, the council will begin discussions with Traffic Infrastructure Ireland about getting the necessary funding for the plan. Mr O’Gorman added that council officials are in discussions with businesses and individuals with a view to using land near the main street for increased off-street parking.
