Dromahane Community Park will have its own community playground in the coming months, after it was revealed that funding of just over €97,000 has been approved for the project. The new amenity will be the first all-inclu-sive playground in North Cork, with equipment to cater for all abilities, and funding is being supplied by North Cork Local Action Group (LAG) through its implementing partner, Avondhu Black-water Partnership. The news was welcomed by Cllr John Paul O’Shea, who said that there will also be a significant amount of local matching funds spent on the new playground, bringing the total expenditure to about €130,000. “The creation of a community playground will enhance the commu-nity life of the village and will also help to address the current identified needs of the area,” he said.
