Edmund O’Neill – the next Ernest Hemingway?

Coláiste Mhuire’s Edmund O’Neill did Buttevant proud on the 29th of April. Edmund was one of seven short story writers to be short listed for the prestigious John West short story competition. O’Neill’s short story was chosen from a total of 11,000 short stories from all over Ireland and represented his school at the awards ceremony in the Mansion House in Dublin. Edmund’s short story is an eclectic mix of love, revenge, bitterness and betrayal. Edmund is a very talented writer. His ability to create atmosphere, to establish character down to the finest detail, is something that few writers ever achieve. Edmund is one of those.
