Following his Munster strokeplay and county strokeplay victories already this year, Edward Walsh from the Majestic club made it a brilliant hat-trick by winning the County Matchplay title in Rocklodge on Sunday. There was a huge entry of 77 players from all over Cork. Edward played some of the best pitch and putt seen from an U/16 player in many a year. He beat a very good Pfizer player Shane Livesey in the final 3 and 2.
Also playing in his first County Senior Final was Mallow man Noel Collins. Unfortunately he was narrowly beaten by Gary O’Sullivan from Claycastle.
The club congratulates both Edward and Noel on their achievements over the weekend.
The club fourballs will be played on Saturday mornings from now on.
The Captain’s Prize is on next Sunday followed by the A.G.M.
