Cork Racecourse Mallow is the place to be this weekend as the popular venue hosts its Racing Home for Easter Festival, and Sunday will be a special day for those who like their style, as television personality Elaine Crowley will be head judge for the RSVP Magazine Most Stylish Lady competition. There is no pre-registration for the competition, just simply look out for the Best Dressed judge and spotters on the day.
Preparations for the three-day festival of racing, which takes place from Saturday to Monday, are almost complete. The quality of racing is always top class, with something for everyone over the three days, starting with a Flat card that kicks off at 1.40pm on Social Saturday, when live music will keep the punters entertained after racing.
Horses go to post Easter Sunday at 1.10pm for the first race of an exciting card, and following the RSVP Magazine Most Stylish Lady event, Cork’s favourite party band, J90, will bring the day to a hopping conclusion with a live show in the marquee.
The festival concludes on Easter Monday with the first race commencing at 1.50pm. This is a really popular day as there will also be a Family Fun Raceday with free entertainment for the younger racegoers. Among the attractions are the Art Attack Zone, as well as a DJ party, magician, puppet show, face painter and henna tattoo artist for children of all ages to enjoy.
Gates open two hours before racing every day, and there are discounts for tickets bought online at www.corkracecourse.ie with the added attraction of beating the queues as a result.
A free shuttle bus service will be provided from Mallow Train Station and Mallow town. For more information visit Cork Racecourse Mallow social channels or contact the office on 022 50207, email: info@corkracecourse.ie
