A huge congratulations to Niamh Foley who was a member of the 4 x 100 m Irish relay team which participated in the European Youth Olympic Festival in Gyor, Hungary, last week. The team was delighted to bring home European Youth Olympic bronze medals. On Friday they won their semi final in a time of 46.31 seconds, and returned on Saturday to run the final, crossing the line in 46.36 seconds. The team consisted of Niamh Foley St Mary’s AC, Patience Jumbo Gula, St Gerard’s AC, Miriam Daly, Carrick on Suir, and Rhadisat Adeleke, Tallaght AC. This is the first European team medal for St Mary’s AC and everyone in the club is so proud of her achievement.

Munster B
Championships
Last weekend we had two athletes competing at the Munster B Championships, Molly Creedon and Eimear Galvin. Molly competed in the girls U12 60m and 600m and she put in an excellent performance, finishing just outside the medals. Eimear competed in the girls U13 80m and shot put.  She crossed the line in the 80m in 11.58 seconds to secure a Munster bronze medal, and just missed out on another bronze medal in the shot put, by 13cm. Well done, girls.
