FAMILY FUN DAY A SUCCESS

There was great excitement in Ballyorgan recently when an exciting Family Fun Day was held at the Coolfree Community Centre. Despite the poor weather approximately 200 people turned out to support the day. Over €1,000 was raised, all of which will go towards the running costs of the centre and the preschool. There were plenty of attractions to keep the children busy such as bouncy castles, novelty races, etc while the parents and other members of the community could sit back and relax and enjoy a burger or a sausage from the BBQ along with a cup of tea. A monster raffle took place which was a great success.

The organisers would like to express sincere thanks to all those who supported the day, thanks to Pa Jo McCarthy, Neilus Hennes-sy, Kilfinane, Kathleen at the Meelick Bridge Riding School, Donie Shiels and family and friends for the music and contributions and Sheehy’s Centra, Kilfinane.

Well done to the hard working committee, Marie Stubbins, Chairperson, Anne Drake, Secretary, Michael O’Sullivan, PRO, Mags Mullins, Treasurer, Annette Maguire, Sarah Mee, Damien Linehan and Fr. O’Leary and volunteers Mag Nunan, Anne Keane, Shane Connery, Shane Shanahan, Anne and Anthony Mee, Catherine Mee, Richard Stubbins, Sinead and Eoin Drake who turned out on the day.

Thanks to all those who sponsored prizes for the raffle. Please support local businesses that sponsored the event. Without them the day would not have been possible.
