Five-time All-Ireland medal winner Graeme Mulcahy donates jersey to former school in Kilmallock

Poised to return for another season as part of the Limerick panel, Graeme Mulcahy, the holder of five All-Ireland hurling medals, has donated the jersey worn during this year’s final to his former national school in Kilmallock. Graeme enjoyed his first taste of competitive hurling at Scoil Mocheallóg under the stewardship of Michael Barron and John Aherne. The Kilmallock and Limerick star forward has fantastic memories of playing hurling there and was delighted to learn about the development of the new all-weather facility at the local school, which will allow pupils to avail of a state of the art playing surface all year round.
100 years of hurling tradition
Scoil Mocheallóg has a long tradition of fostering the sporting careers of its students – a proud tradition that can be traced back over a century. The signed All Ireland winning jersey will now be auctioned on the school’s social media platforms in an effort to raise funds for the much-anticipated new facility. The auction is expected to arouse much interest in Kilmallock and its hinterland. Prospective buyers wishing to acquire the historic jersey can make a bid via the Scoil Mocheallóg Facebook page or by texting 087-7806523.
