This year Abbeyfeale will celebrate the twentieth year of its traditional festival ‘Fleadh by the Feale’, which takes place over the May bank-holiday weekend. The Festival starts on Thursday 1st May and runs until Monday 5th May.
The Fleadh has become one of the most popular events on the traditional music calendar and attracts many visitors to the town each year. As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations this year’s Celebrity Concert will feature the world famous traditional artist Sharon Shannon and her band on Sunday 4th May in Coláiste Ide agus Iosef, Abbeyfeale. The last visit of Sharon Shannon was in 2006 when tickets sold out weeks in advance, so it is advisable to get your tickets early.
