Mallow Golf Club U18 team which won the Munster section of the Fred Daly Trophy in 2013, and competed in the All Ireland Finals last August at Claremorris Golf Club, will represent their club, town, province and country at the upcoming Home Nations trophy event in Anteguerra, Spain, beginning on 11th March. As Munster champions it is a great honour for all of the boys concerned, Greg Barrett, Liam Dowling, Eoin Goggin, Kevin O’Keeffe, Kieran O’Sullivan, Conor Roche, Edward Walsh and Roy Whelan. James Sugrue is also part of the team but will miss this event as he will be representing Ireland in France the following week.
There is considerable expense involved in travelling to Spain for this prestigious competition, and to raise funds a table quiz will be held tonight, Thursday 13th February at 8.30pm in Mallow Golf Club. Team of four, €40. Another fundraiser is a raffle with lines being sold for €2 each. There are lots of prizes on offer, including a ‘Monster Hamper’, which is on display in the bar at Mallow Golf Club. Please support!
