Traditional music fans from near and far will flock to Kilfinane this weekend, as the town hosts its first ever Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh. The music and craic will flow from today, Wednesday, and a top class line-up of musicians including Bobby Gardiner, Nell Ní Chróinín, Caoimhín and Seán Ó’Fearghail, Ryan O’Donnell, Ronan Ryan, Cliona Halley and many more have been booked for free music seisiúns in various locations. A free outdoor gig will be held in the street on Saturday night, at which the renowned North Cregg have re-formed to per-form with Meath fiddler Bernadette Nic Gabhann. Saturday night will also see an on-street regional dance performance by a number of All-Ireland set dancing winners, and a Céilí Mór. Sunday offers more on-street trad entertainment and plenty of seisiúns, and a col-laboration with Comhal-tas branches in the evening. A full line-up of events is available on Facebook at CCEBally-houra where regular updates will be posted. Also, see the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann article in the Night Life pages of this newspaper.
