Next Monday night, December 7th, the Joanne McMahon fundraiser for the National Burns Unit at St. James’s Hospital will be launched in the Community Hall, Castlemahon, at 8pm. The fundraiser will be held on Sunday April 17th 2016 with a 90km and 40km cycle, and a 10km run/walk or cycle with a 5km option too. At the end of the events on the day, Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated in the church in Castlemahon.
As many people are aware, Joanne McMahon of Castlemahon suffered major burns following an accident at a family gathering in May 2014. Thankfully, she is making a fantastic recovery and, typical of the woman, she wants to give something back for the magnificent care she received. (For more details see page 13)
